Flavorful Dinner Delight is a layered baked casserole with seasoned ground beef, tender vegetables, creamy sauce, and melted cheese.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef 85 percent lean
1 small onion finely chopped
1 bell pepper chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
3 cups cooked pasta or thinly sliced potatoes
1 cup sour cream
1 can 10.5 ounces cream of mushroom soup
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a baking dish.

  • Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat and drain excess fat.

  • Add onion and bell pepper and cook until softened. Stir in garlic and cook briefly.

  • Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

  • Mix sour cream and cream of mushroom soup in a bowl.

  • Layer half of pasta or potatoes in baking dish, top with half of beef mixture and half of sauce.

  • Repeat layers and finish with shredded cheeses.

  • Cover and bake 20 minutes. Uncover and bake 10 to 15 minutes until cheese is golden.

  • Rest 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Parboil potato slices if using instead of pasta. Assemble ahead and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking.
