Flavorful Dinner Delight is a layered baked casserole with seasoned ground beef, tender vegetables, creamy sauce, and melted cheese.
1 pound ground beef 85 percent lean
1 small onion finely chopped
1 bell pepper chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
3 cups cooked pasta or thinly sliced potatoes
1 cup sour cream
1 can 10.5 ounces cream of mushroom soup
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and black pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a baking dish.
Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat and drain excess fat.
Add onion and bell pepper and cook until softened. Stir in garlic and cook briefly.
Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Mix sour cream and cream of mushroom soup in a bowl.
Layer half of pasta or potatoes in baking dish, top with half of beef mixture and half of sauce.
Repeat layers and finish with shredded cheeses.
Cover and bake 20 minutes. Uncover and bake 10 to 15 minutes until cheese is golden.
Rest 10 minutes before serving.
Parboil potato slices if using instead of pasta. Assemble ahead and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking.
