A layered dessert of fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and sponge cake or ladyfingers, chilled to create a creamy, fruity, and visually stunning treat.

Ingredients

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
1 sponge cake or 8 ladyfingers, cut to fit serving dish
Optional garnish: fresh mint leaves, extra strawberry slices, chocolate shavings

Instructions

  • Macerate strawberries with sugar and lemon juice 10–15 min. Puree or mash lightly if desired.
  • Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar, vanilla, and optional lemon zest to soft peaks.
  • Prepare sponge cake or ladyfingers as base, drizzle with strawberry juices.
  • Layer whipped cream, strawberries, and cake; repeat as desired. Top with whipped cream and strawberries.
  • Chill at least 1 hour before serving. Garnish as desired.

Notes

Add mascarpone or cream cheese for richness, use coconut cream for vegan option, fold in chocolate or nuts for texture.
