Brownie Cookies- In Bloom Bakery are fudgy, chocolate-rich cookies with slightly crisp edges and gooey centers.

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs, room temperature
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks or chips
Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Combine melted butter with sugars until smooth.
  • Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  • Whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt; fold into wet ingredients.
  • Fold in chocolate chunks and optional nuts.
  • Scoop onto baking sheets, flatten slightly, and bake 10–12 minutes.
  • Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill dough for 30 minutes for better texture. Use high-quality chocolate. Store airtight 4–5 days.
