Lemon brownies are moist, chewy dessert bars bursting with bright citrus flavor. Topped with a tangy lemon glaze, they’re the perfect balance of sweet and tart in each bite.
For the Brownies:
1 cup all-purpose flour
¾ cup granulated sugar
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
2 large eggs
¼ cup fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp lemon zest
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2–3 tbsp lemon juice
Lemon zest (optional, for garnish)
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line or grease an 8×8″ pan.
Whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth.
Add eggs, lemon juice, zest, and vanilla. Mix well.
Stir in flour and salt just until combined.
Spread batter evenly in pan.
Bake 22–25 minutes, until set in center. Cool completely.
Mix glaze ingredients until smooth. Spread over cooled bars.
Let glaze set 15–20 mins before slicing.
Use fresh lemon juice and zest for best flavor.
Chill before slicing for clean cuts.
Store at room temp for 2 days or refrigerate up to 5 days.
