Thick, buttery sugar cookies with a soft center and sweet almond-vanilla frosting — inspired by Crumbl and perfect for Christmas.

Ingredients

For the Cookies:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 egg

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • ¾ tsp almond extract

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

For the Frosting:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter

  • 2 ½ cups powdered sugar

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ tsp almond extract

  • 23 tbsp milk or cream

  • Food coloring (optional)

  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  • Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, vanilla, and almond extract.

  • Mix in flour, baking powder, and salt until soft dough forms.

  • Scoop large dough balls, flatten tops slightly.

  • Bake at 350°F for 10–12 min. Cool completely.

  • Beat frosting ingredients until fluffy. Color if desired.

  • Frost cooled cookies and top with sprinkles.

Notes

  • For thicker cookies, chill dough before baking.

  • Store frosted cookies in an airtight container.

  • Freeze baked cookies (without frosting) for up to 2 months.
