Thick, buttery sugar cookies with a soft center and sweet almond-vanilla frosting — inspired by Crumbl and perfect for Christmas.
For the Cookies:
1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
½ tsp vanilla extract
¾ tsp almond extract
2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
For the Frosting:
½ cup unsalted butter
2 ½ cups powdered sugar
½ tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp almond extract
2–3 tbsp milk or cream
Food coloring (optional)
Sprinkles
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, vanilla, and almond extract.
Mix in flour, baking powder, and salt until soft dough forms.
Scoop large dough balls, flatten tops slightly.
Bake at 350°F for 10–12 min. Cool completely.
Beat frosting ingredients until fluffy. Color if desired.
Frost cooled cookies and top with sprinkles.
For thicker cookies, chill dough before baking.
Store frosted cookies in an airtight container.
Freeze baked cookies (without frosting) for up to 2 months.
