If dates are dry, soak in warm water for 10 minutes and drain.
Add almonds to a food processor and pulse until coarse.
Add cocoa powder and dates. Process until mixture forms a sticky dough.
Scoop and roll into 1-inch balls.
Optional: Roll in shredded coconut, chopped nuts, or cocoa powder.
