1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 large eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup whole milk
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
1 cup whole strawberries

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare two 8-inch cake pans.
  • Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together.
  • Beat eggs and sugar until pale and thick.
  • Mix warm milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
  • Fold dry ingredients and milk mixture into egg mixture gently.
  • Divide batter and bake for 20–25 minutes. Cool completely.
  • Whip cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  • Spread cream and sliced strawberries between cake layers.
  • Cover cake with cream and decorate with whole strawberries.
  • Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes
