Creamy Lemon Garlic Pasta with a silky sauce, bright lemon flavor, and aromatic garlic, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

12 ounces pasta (fettuccine, linguine, or spaghetti)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Zest of 1 lemon
Juice of 1 lemon
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest for garnish (optional)
1/4 cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup pasta water and drain.

  • Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté garlic 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

  • Reduce heat to low. Stir in heavy cream and parmesan until smooth.

  • Add lemon juice, zest, and red pepper flakes. Simmer 1–2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Add pasta and toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water if needed.

  • Sprinkle parsley and garnish with lemon zest or parmesan.

  • Serve immediately.

Notes

Adjust lemon and garlic to taste. Protein additions like chicken or shrimp are optional.
