Pecan Pie Bars with a buttery shortbread crust, gooey pecan filling, and toasted pecans on top. Perfect for holidays, parties, or casual treats.

Ingredients

For the crust:
1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
For the filling:
1 cup light or dark brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup light corn syrup
3 large eggs, at room temperature
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups pecans, toasted and chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment.
  • Cream butter and sugar for crust; mix in flour and salt. Press into pan and bake 15–18 minutes until lightly golden. Cool slightly.
  • Whisk filling ingredients, including pecans, until smooth.
  • Pour over crust and spread evenly.
  • Bake 25–30 minutes until filling is set. Cool completely.
  • Refrigerate 1 hour before cutting into bars.
  • Store in airtight container up to 4 days; freeze for longer storage.

Notes

Toast pecans for extra flavor. Optional chocolate drizzle or spices. Gluten-free and vegan variations possible.
