For the filling:
1 cup light or dark brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup light corn syrup
3 large eggs, at room temperature
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups pecans, toasted and chopped
