This Chocolate Orange Cheesecake combines rich dark chocolate with zesty citrus for a decadent, silky dessert on a chocolate cookie crust. A perfect showstopper for holidays and special occasions.
Crust:
1¾ cups crushed chocolate cookies (like Oreos)
¼ cup melted butter
Pinch of salt
Filling:
24 oz cream cheese, softened
¾ cup sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp orange zest
3 tbsp fresh orange juice
½ cup sour cream or heavy cream
8 oz dark chocolate, melted
Optional Ganache:
½ cup heavy cream
4 oz dark chocolate, chopped
Preheat oven to 325°F. Mix crust ingredients, press into a springform pan, and bake 10 minutes. Cool.
Beat cream cheese, then add sugar, eggs, zest, juice, and cream. Mix in melted chocolate.
Pour into crust. Bake 55–65 minutes. Cool in oven 1 hour, then refrigerate 6 hours or overnight.
(Optional) Top with ganache. Chill before serving.
Use quality chocolate and fresh orange zest for the best flavor. Cheesecake can be made 2 days ahead and freezes well.
