Soft, chewy, and full of holiday flavor, these cranberry orange cookies combine buttery cookie dough with tart cranberries and bright orange zest — perfect for festive gatherings.
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup brown sugar
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 egg + 1 egg yolk
1 tbsp fresh orange juice
1 tbsp orange zest
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 cup dried cranberries
Optional: ½ cup white chocolate chips or chopped walnuts
Cream butter and sugars until fluffy.
Beat in egg, yolk, orange juice, zest, and vanilla.
Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt; stir into wet ingredients.
Fold in cranberries (and optional chips/nuts).
Chill dough 1 hour.
Scoop dough balls onto parchment-lined tray.
Bake at 350°F for 9–11 minutes.
Cool 5 minutes on tray, then transfer to rack.
Chill dough for thicker cookies.
Add extra zest for stronger orange flavor.
Store in airtight container for up to 5 days.
