Light and crispy churro-style bites made from angel food cake, tossed in cinnamon sugar and perfect for dipping or snacking.

Ingredients

  • 1 angel food cake (homemade or store-bought), cut into 1-inch cubes

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 11.5 tsp ground cinnamon

  • Neutral oil for frying (canola or vegetable)

Instructions

  • Cut angel food cake into 1-inch cubes.

  • In a shallow bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.

  • Heat 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet to 350°F.

  • Fry cake cubes in small batches for 30–45 seconds until golden.

  • Remove and drain briefly on paper towels.

  • While still warm, roll each cube in cinnamon sugar.

  • Serve warm with optional dipping sauces

Notes

Use day-old cake for best results. Try with chocolate or caramel dipping sauce. For a lighter version, bake or air fry the bites.
