Light and crispy churro-style bites made from angel food cake, tossed in cinnamon sugar and perfect for dipping or snacking.
1 angel food cake (homemade or store-bought), cut into 1-inch cubes
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1–1.5 tsp ground cinnamon
Neutral oil for frying (canola or vegetable)
Cut angel food cake into 1-inch cubes.
In a shallow bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
Heat 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet to 350°F.
Fry cake cubes in small batches for 30–45 seconds until golden.
Remove and drain briefly on paper towels.
While still warm, roll each cube in cinnamon sugar.
Serve warm with optional dipping sauces
Use day-old cake for best results. Try with chocolate or caramel dipping sauce. For a lighter version, bake or air fry the bites.
